Marie's mom speaks of her Gunsite experience

A lesson in dealing with Hoplophobia

Hoplophobia - an irrational fear of weapons.

The drill rifle that started the ball rolling.

Marie not only handled the situation at school in a very professional manner, she lobbied to get the zero tolerance laws in CO changed to prevent this happening in the future to others.

I was lucky to spend a couple of hours with Marie and her mom, Jennifer McGrew, at Gunsite. I observed her during the shoot-off and had the opportunity to chat with her for a couple of hours at The Sconce.

Marie is an example of what all Americans should be.

In addition to being a member of the Young Marines, including the drill team, she starts the Merchant Marine Academy in the fall of 2009.

American is a better place for her invovlment and I am proud to help welcome her and Jennifer to the Raven Clan.

Scary drill rifles.
